Re: Feghouli Coming good
I fully agree with the original post.

Sharp and determined off the ball and some good play on the ball until he got sent off. As long as he keeps working hard when he plays he will be an asset to us.

I'd like to see him, payet and lanzini as a three behind the striker a little more often

Just hope the sending off doesn't make him think twice about challenges, working hard etc...

Thought he played opening 3...it was Tore

Still had enough game time to make an impression.....which he hasnt

I can see why you'd think he was beyond hope if you got him mixed up with Tore.

Usually I try to see the positive, but he really was shit.

Rossal

The other night was his first start against UK opposition. He has played 177 minutes of Premier League football, that's enough is it? Not even two full games worth, and we all know how hard it an be to impose yourself with limited game time.

Once again mate you say stuff for effect without knowing the facts.

Re: Feghouli Coming good
Although I haven't been too enthusiastic about him, he's miles better than Tore, Zaza and Calleri.

May well come good.

If any of the other three do, I shall buy a reinforced umbrella in case of flying pigs

He has had enough time to make an impact from the bench in many games. The red card is the only thing of note he has done. I hope he comes good, but he hasnt shown anything in the chances he has had to suggest he will

Re: Feghouli Coming good
177 minutes of football is enough in your eyes, yes?

Trevor B 2:43 Wed Jan 4
Re: Feghouli Coming good
BTW he has most assists than Antonio, Ayew and Lanzini combined.

Re: Feghouli Coming good
45 mins v West Brom
45 mins v Soton
30 mins v Sunderland
25 mins v Leicester

Seen enough in those 4 to suggest he isnt what we thought we were signing yes

Re: Feghouli Coming good
Okey dokey, 177 minutes of PL football is enough to write a player off, one that's never played in this country or league before, who has come into a team devoid of confidence, with no goalscorer to provide to, in a stadium with no soul or atmosphere.

Sorry Rossal but your views are usually quite shit and ill-informed (RW earlier for example) so I'm gonna pigeon hole this along with the all others.

Trevor B 2:49 Wed Jan 4

Yep as said before how many start off like he has then turn into key players ? All our best signings over the last few years have hit the groud running.

He is a international who has played in the champions league, he should of produced better performances then what he has proven by the fact no-one mentioned him being the only decent signing in a shit window last summer.

Trevor B 3:00 Wed Jan 4
Re: Feghouli Coming good
Who said he had to turn into a key player?

Yes you are right, Payet obviously should hit the ground running as he is one of the best players in the world, but Lanzini is a great example of a player who we were unsure about and settled well, in a team who were all playing well and with confidence in front of a great crowd in a stadium with superb atmosphere. There have been plenty of players down the years who started poorly and became good players, Antonio wasn't even good enough for an appearance off the bench until we got desperate, and then in his first few games he looked very raw and 'lower league'. Reid was very poor when he first started for instance.

I'm not sure why being an international player should matter, Michael Ricketts played international football, not sure that would help him settle if he had moved abroad?

177 minutes of football in a new country, new league, poor team, injuries etc isn't enough to write someone off.

He has a lot of talent, I'm happy to give him time. Less than two full games of football is nowhere near enough.

Anyway, back in the pigeon hole with you.

Rossal

I have no intention of digging anything up in July, told you so threads are not for me thanks mate. Your opinion that 177 minutes of football is enough to completely write of a decent, talented player is just wrong imho, and nothing will change that. he may not settle, you could be right, but to write a player off after 177 is pure guesswork. I'm sure if your guess is a lucky one you will no doubt rehash this thread. Remind me to keep a note of every single opinion you have to remind you of the 99% that prove to be wrong ;-)

Re: Feghouli Coming good
Trevor B 3:10 Wed Jan 4

Well you just said to write him off is wrong. Im saying lets see in July if you are correct

The games he played in were hardly top sides, cant perform against them then you will struggle simple as that. He isn't young and starting off, he is a experienced pro who would of been expected to be in the team from day 1......Fernandes and Fletcher came in and made an impact why couldnt Feghouli??.......You say decent and talented...but he hasnt shown any of that thus far. He has been here over 6 months thats more then enough time to settle...he had done it before with Valencia

Like i said hope he comes good because we need him to, but just cant see it. Not a guess at all, just based on his game time in a west ham shirt up until now

Re: Feghouli Coming good
The record for writing a player off (that I've seen) was Vaz Te after a 5 minute substitute appearance on his debut.

Can't remember who, but someone on here was slagging him right off.

As it turns out, he had a cracking season.

ES

Indeed mate! Reid played 400 minutes of PL football in his first season and was pretty awful, Rossal would've written him off though....

It's utterly ridiculous how some of our fans turn on our own players so quickly. Pathetic really.
